Decoding Media Messages Through Different Mediums

For the first time in my life, I voluntarily watched a television program by dint of a contrastive medium. Although the medium stayed the same, the manner in which the means was sent changed drastically. Today I came to rest in the chow hall with about two hundred fellow soldiers as they finished their daily missions, rushed through serving lines, fill up on drinks, and finally sat down to all the same another US Army dinner. This would normally be my routine, however, at present I was on a bit of a different page. This evening I would be ceremonial the CNN Morning discussion Show with closed captioning. This proved to be a preferably awkward experience from the start.
For the first time in over five months, I watched the countersign on a television. unremarkably I stay connected to world news and received events through the internet or speaking with my fiancé and parents. As the news program began and Robin Mead welcomed all the viewers to the show, it was readily very apparent this was going to be a difficult backwash experience. The first difference that became evident, was the role noise played in my ability to pay economic aid. With the absence of sound, noise became an overwhelming factor. It extremely affected communication between the medium and the receiver.



There were much than quite a few times I open myself more involved in ambient conversation of skirt tables, rather than on the television program I came to watch. It was virtually as if I had to concentrate just to pay attention to the story being reported despite my being elicit in the subject matter. Several times, I turned to my whizz inquiring about what was just said about the Ex-IMF headspring Dominique Strauss-Khan,

even though he and I were watching/reading the same television set. Noise, however large a distraction, was just about on par with the other differences in receiving the message through this medium.
