The aim of this piece of work is to discuss concepts and determinants of health and how they relate to an individual. To protect my case studys identity I provide refer to him as Mr D.
Mr D is a 35 year old male who has smoked since the grow of 14. Currently he smokes an average of 30 cigarettes per day and has been classed as morbidly obese for the last ten years. Mr D lives merely in his modern property which is both double glazed and central heated throughout. The property is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac with open fields to the rear. Mr D was a great(p) drinker and would consume at least 24 units per day, this went on between 2001 to 2009. Currently Mr D only drinks when socializing and often goes months without any alcohol.
Mr D is self employed with 11 work outg working for him. The business at present is organism run from his home temporarily and as a result he works 60+ hours per week, as for lunch this is often overlooked. As a result of the many hours worked Mr D, although a keen cook, norm anyy eats fast convenient foods.
Within the family there is a history of diabetes.



Mr D was diagnosed with Hepatitis B when he was 20 and had the all clear 6 months later, however, during the six month period following the diagnosis Mr Ds institutionalise in the NHS was befuddled as the GP he saw continued to pelt him with questions relating to heavy drinking, despite being told on several cause he was not a drinker. Further damage to his trust happened when a member of his family died in hospital, they contracted MRSA while being treated for a broken leg in 2004. Self-diagnose and self-prescribe with the assist of the internet is now the only form of medical economic aid he receives. It has been 15 years since Mr D has seen a make and his attitude towards his health now is what will be will be.
