It was the War in the country. It was destructive and terrible. It was the Civil War.

Two brothers became generals - but on opposite sides. And three of President Lincolns own brothers-in-law died fighting for the Confederacy.

The Confederate soldiers were assured of the victory. And so did the Union soldiers.
