Gilgamesh Gilgamesh was non a brave leader. Enkidu helped Gilgamesh through his journey and without him, Gilgamesh would non have survived. He boasted to Uruk of how powerful he was and how prepared he was to fight. However, when Humbaba charged at Gilgamesh from his house, Gilgamesh had to call upon Shamash with divide in his eyes. Shamash detained Humbaba yet Gilgamesh was almost deceived by him to free him and let Humbaba be his slave.

Enkidu made Gilgamesh realize that he was being deceived. hence Gilgamesh and Enkidu killed Humbaba. Gilgamesh was also greedy for eternal life. He could not be looked upon as a hero today, but as a sidekick or the shadow of a hero.
