Martin Luther, one of the key figures in 16th century rehabilitation of the church, has died, according to the people of Eisleben, where he was born. He was 62 geezerhood old.

Luther had traveled to Mansfeld twice in late 1545 to participate in the negotiations for a settlement, and a third visit was needed in early 1546 for their completion. The negotiations were success replete(p)y concluded on February 17.

Luther was born to Hans and Margarethe Luther on November 10, 1483, in Eisleben. He was baptized the next morning on the feast mean solar day of St. Martin of Tours.

Hans Luther was determined to see his oldest son become a lawyer, so he sent Martin to schools in Mansfeld, and in 1497 he went to Magdeburg, where he attended a school operated by a stem called the Brethren of the Common Life. In 1498, he attended school in Eisenach. At the age of seventeen in 1501 he entered the University of Erfurt. He received his Bachelors degree after just one yr in 1502. Three years later, in 1505, Martin received a Masters degree.

On October 31, 1517, Martin wrote to Albert, Archbishop of Mainz and Magdeburg, protesting the sale of indulgences in his area and inviting him to a rivalry on the matter. He enclosed...
